Overview

Wife Eye is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our macOS application. We believe in transparency and want you to understand that Wife Eye is designed with privacy as a core principle.

The short version: Wife Eye does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All network statistics and information displayed in the app are processed locally on your device and never leave your Mac.

Information We Do Not Collect

Wife Eye operates entirely on your local device. We do not collect:

• Personal identification information
• Network names (SSIDs) or passwords
• IP addresses or MAC addresses
• Browsing history or internet activity
• Speed test results or network statistics
• Device identifiers or hardware information
• Location data
• Any form of analytics or usage data

Local Data Processing

All features in Wife Eye process data locally on your Mac:

• Wi-Fi Statistics: Signal strength, noise levels, channel information, and connection quality are read directly from your Mac's network interfaces and displayed in real-time.
• Internet Speed Tests: Speed tests are performed using M-Lab servers. These tests measure your connection speed but do not transmit any personal information. M-Lab's own privacy policy applies to the speed test service.
• Channel Traffic Analysis: Wi-Fi channel scanning is performed locally to detect nearby networks and their channel usage. This information never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

Wife Eye uses M-Lab (Measurement Lab) for internet speed testing. When you run a speed test, your connection is measured against M-Lab's servers. M-Lab is a partnership between New America's Open Technology Institute, Google, and academic partners. You can review M-Lab's privacy policy at their website for details on how they handle speed test data.

If you downloaded Wife Eye from the Mac App Store, Apple's standard App Store privacy practices apply to the download and update process.

Data Storage

Any preferences or settings you configure in Wife Eye are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS storage mechanisms. This data remains on your device and is not synced or transmitted to any servers.

Speed test history, if you choose to view it, is stored locally and can be cleared at any time through the app settings.
